10 Research Topics In Newest DOT Call for SBIR Proposals

Arkansas small businesses are encouraged to explore research funding opportunities within the FY14.2 pre-release of the Department of Transportation’s Small Business Innovation Research Phase I solicitation. The DOT SBIR program awards contracts to small businesses to pursue research on and develop innovative solutions to our nation’s transportation challenges.
Within this solicitation, six DoT components have issued research topics for which they seek responsive proposals. These components are the Federal Aviation Administration, Administración Federal de Carreteras, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Administración Federal de Tránsito, NHTSA, and the Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration. There are 10 temas de investigación. Although each proposal must only respond to one topic, applicants can describe relevance to multiple topic areas within their proposals.
The DOT anticipates issuing 15 total SBIR Phase I awards for this solicitation, with awards ranging from $100,000 a $150,000 depending on the agency component. Project periods of performance are six months. Proposals are due by 10:59 p.m. CST on Siete. 15, 2014.
