Air Force Previews New SBIR/STTR Topics
April 19th, 2017 by Rebecca Norman
Innovative entrepreneurs and small businesses are encouraged to check out the preview list of new Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)/Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) topics issued by the Department of Defense (DoD) Air Force.
The DoD’s next SBIR/STTR Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) is scheduled for pre-release Friday, April 21. Applications will be due June 21.
The Air Force currently has 15 research topics and four STTR topics that prospective applicants could address. Draft topics are subject to change before the April 21 pre-release.
The Air Force has developed training to ensure compliance with the eligibility requirements for the SBIR and STTR programs. Applicants will be required to complete the training and attach a signed completion certificate to their applications. This Air Force SBIR/STTR training can be downloaded here.
Innovative companies who locate a potential topic match for their research project ideas are encouraged to connect with Air Force technical contacts after the BAA is pre-released April 21. These agency points of contact can be found here.
As a preliminary step for preparing a responsive proposal, all applicants need to have required company numbers (Employee Identification Number and Dun & Bradstreet number) and complete federal registrations (SAM.gov; SBIR.gov; Grants.gov; and DoD’s Submission System).
Arkansas-based entrepreneurs seeking assistance with developing DoD SBIR/STTR proposal applications are encouraged to contact Rebecca Norman at email@example.com or 501.683.7700.
