Apple recently announced the upcoming release of Apple Watch Series 2 that features a faster processor, bigger battery, brighter screen waterproof construction and a GPS module.
Apple has also provided an update to the Operating System Watch OS 3 that can be used with Apple Watch 1 and 2.
Using Watch OS 3, users can now track distance, pace, active calories, heart rate and elapsed time. Fitness activities can be shared with friends and tracked without carrying a smartphone. The GPS module will allow users to track various fitness metrics such as muscle power, lactic acid and heart rate.
The evolution of Apple’s wearables indicates that the company views them as wellness and fitness tools as well as stylish communication devices.
