The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center will offer free business startup training in American Sign Language for deaf entrepreneurs, as well as free events for existing businesses that want to become more “deaf friendly.”

On Oct. 13, licensed ASL interpreters will help conduct “Starting a Business in Arkansas” and “How to Write a Business Plan,” ASBTDC’s fundamental startup seminars. “Starting a Business in Arkansas” will be from 9 a.m. a 12 de la tarde, followed by “How to Write a Business Plan” from 1 a 4 p.m. Both classes will be held at the Arkansas School for the Deaf in Little Rock.

El programa de la mañana cubrirá los pasos esenciales de inicio, estructuras empresariales legales, regulaciones y licencias, key issues that affect business success and common pitfalls entrepreneurs face. The afternoon session will go over a simple business plan format participants can use to craft plans that will guide the growth of their ventures.

“How to Be a Deaf Friendly Business” will be offered Sept. 30 and Nov. 12 en la Universidad de Arkansas en Little Rock. Local businesses will receive an introduction to deaf culture, learn basic ASL signs, and discover how to appear on the review website used by deaf and hard-of-hearing consumers.
