BarCamp Little Rock
July 28th, 2014 by Timothy
How willing are you to attend a conference where no one knows who the speakers will be nor what topics will be discussed? Welcome to BarCamp, an “unconference” and a popular meeting format among the nation’s creative and achiever class.
The last Saturday in July found 52 folks holding a BarCamp at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
At noon, attendees grabbed a box lunch, signed up for book and device raffles, and listed topics they wished to speak on. After deciding on 30-minute sessions versus 45-minutes and cajouling a few more speakers from the crowd, the unconference began. Talks on mentoring, amateur radio, massive open online courses (MOOCs), social media, and how to outsource using ODesk and eLance followed.
