Big Rock Mini Golf and Fun Park

Marci_Big RockMarci Hugg Hall thought Little Rock needed a new leisure activity, especially for young people, that was affordable and safe, so she decided to make one.

In 2013, with a master’s degree in recreation and an entrepreneurial family background, she dived into developing a family attraction – an idea she had been considering for a while.

“This was simmering for a very long time,” she said.

Working with business consultant Ken Rhone, she used ASBTDC market research and demographics reports to assist with her site selection. “Very helpful” weekly conversations with Ken through late 2013 and early 2014 helped her work through purchasing, renovating, and opening the business.

The brand new, “completely from scratch” mini golf course, which is handicapped-accessible, was completed in May, and Big Rock Mini Golf and Fun Park celebrated its grand opening July 5.

In addition to mini golf, the facility has go-karts, bumper boats, batting cages, arcade games, concessions, and party packages.

Hall is a hands-on owner who manages the day-to-day operation. She calls her venture “all consuming but so rewarding.”
