Birth Central Doulas

When Kayla Bradbury decided to pursue her dream of starting Birth Central Doulas, she turned to the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center at Henderson State University.
Birth Central Doulas is a birth services agency providing birth and postpartum doula support, childbirth education classes, and belly casting to families in Hot Springs and the surrounding areas. Bradbury is a certified doula, a woman who assists and serves mothers before, during, and after they give birth.
The business helps to bridge the gaps between mother-baby medical providers and the communities they serve. Through continuous pregnancy and postpartum support, breastfeeding classes, parenting workshops, and resource groups, Birth Central Doulas provides the knowledge and tools needed for a more confident and healthy transition to parenthood.
Brandon Horvath, business consultant at the HSU center, assisted Bradbury throughout the business startup process, including reviewing Bradbury’s business plan, providing tailored market research, helping structure the operational components of her business, and offering feedback and suggestions on the company’s website and other marketing platforms.
“The continuous guidance, resources, and encouragement I received from my advisor at the HSU ASBTDC empowers me to shape my dream into reality. I am forever grateful for such amazing support throughout this challenging and rewarding journey,” said Bradbury. “He laughs at me when I say this, but I call Brandon my business doula. He is the one that I can reach out to whenever I have a question.”
“Kayla’s drive to succeed and passion for helping expecting families was refreshing. I look forward to working with Kayla as her business progresses and am excited to see her success,” said Horvath.
