Blytheville Couple Achieves Dream

The ASBTDC at Arkansas State University helped Greg and Beverly Rogers purchase Day’s Clothing, a men’s retail clothing store and Main Street anchor in Blytheville.

Farmer’s Bank & Trust President Randy Scott referred the couple to ASBTDC’s Laura Miller. Miller was immediately impressed with their business sense and their explicit plans for the store.

ASBTDC provided market research that included industry information as well as demographics specific to their target market. Miller helped the pair analyze the store’s historical financial data and use the historical averages to develop financial projections. Miller offered feedback on their business plan and continued to assist after they attended the center’s “Starting a Business in Arkansas” seminar.

The couple were able to secure a loan from Farmer’s B&T as well as a Federal Home Loan Bank EDP Plus Grant to assist with the purchase. The project created five jobs.

“The Small Business and Technology Development Center at ASU played a vital role in assisting us with the acquisition of our new clothing business,” said Greg Rogers. “We are extremely thankful for the volume of data related to the local market and the personal care provided by Laura Miller. Thank you for helping us achieve our dream!”
