Checklist, Consultants Can Help Business Owners with Storm Recovery Plan

A resource available from the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center can help small business owners whose businesses were damaged or destroyed or operations interrupted by the April 27 tornado determine their next steps.
ASBTDC’s Checklist for Re-Opening Your Business After a Disaster is a tool business owners can use to assess their financial position and consider their options. The six-page checklist poses questions business owners need to consider while developing their recovery plans.
Business consultants from the center’s office at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock can work through the checklist with small business owners to help them plan for the future.
Consulting is available at no charge at the U.S. Small Business Administration’s temporary Business Recovery Center in Conway. ASBTDC consultants will be at the BRC, located on the third floor of the Faulkner County Justice Building on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
Assistance is also available by phone. Call the UALR office at 501.683.7700 or toll-free 800.862.2040.
“We know many area business owners are eager to resume their business activities, but first they need a plan. I encourage area business owners affected by the recent tornadoes to take advantage of our free and confidential consulting services,” said Janet Roderick, ASBTDC State Director.
The ASBTDC is a partnership of the SBA, the UALR College of Business and other institutions of higher education.
