We want them to be ready to work in a salon, day one of their first job,” said co-owner Bridget Price, who has more than 20 years of experience as a stylist and salon owner.
Students serve clients who come for manicures, pedicures, massages, haircuts, color services, waxing, y más.
The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center at Arkansas Tech University assisted the couple with the startup of their business.
Corey Price approached the ASBTDC for assistance in gaining capital financing for the project.
He worked with an ATU ASBTDC consultant on loan packaging. “I gave them my business plan, my tax returns, and a lot of other documents. We went over everything to make sure I wasn’t missing anything or there wasn’t a program for which I could apply. It was reassuring to have an expert to ask for this type of assistance,” Price said.
The couple purchased and remodeled a former office building to serve as the home of Edge Salon Academy.
Beyond serving their own students, the Prices plan to bring in speakers and host events for established stylists.
