Departamento de Defensa Small Business Innovation Research or Small Business Technology Transfer Phase I awards for feasibility studies are typically between $70,000 a $150,000, depending on agency component. The project period of performance is generally between six to 12 meses. Proposers are encouraged to consider whether the research or research and development being proposed also has private-sector potential, either for the proposed application or as a base for other applications.
DoD SBIR solicitation
Participating agency components in the DoD SBIR solicitation include the Army, Fuerza Aérea, Agencia de Logística de Defensa, Defense Microelectronics Activity, Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Agencia de Defensa de Misiles, Armada, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
DARPA, the OSD, and Air Force are both offering the Direct to Phase II option in the SBIR solicitation.

Within the STTR solicitation, participating agency components include the Navy and DMEA.

Proposing firms must be registered in the DoD Submission system here. The submission website provides a structure for providing each of the four proposal sections. Proposing firms must begin entering proposals by providing information for the Proposal Cover Sheet. After this step, applicants will be assigned a proposal number to retain for future reference.
