September 10th, 2014 by Gwen Green
Gwen Green of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center was honored as Arkansas’ State Star Sept. 9 at America’s Small Business Development Centers’ 34th Annual Conference in Grapevine, Texas.
Green, the center’s communications coordinator, received the State Star designation for being an exemplary performer, contributing significantly to the Arkansas SBTDC program and showing a strong commitment to small businesses.
A State Star is chosen from each state, regional or territorial SBDC program.
“Gwen Green’s creativity, talent and teamwork have contributed greatly to the statewide success of the ASBTDC, and her efforts merit this national recognition,” said Janet Roderick, ASBTDC state director.
A native of Hoxie, Green joined the ASBTDC in 2008 and works in the center’s lead office at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock College of Business.
With about 1,000 locations across the nation, the Small Business Development Center network is a partnership uniting private enterprise, government, higher education and local nonprofit economic development organizations. It is the Small Business Administration’s largest partnership program, providing management and technical assistance to help Americans start, run and grow their own businesses.
The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center program is a partnership of the SBA and the UALR College of Business. ASBTDC assists new, existing and expanding small businesses and innovation-based ventures through a statewide network of seven offices.
