JetBlue Investing in Startups
March 8th, 2016 by Sarah Ricard
JetBlue Airways announced in February that it is launching JetBlue Technology Ventures, a venture capital subsidiary. The goal of the new company is to invest in tech innovations that not only will enhance JetBlue’s customer experience but will also benefit the travel industry as a whole.
The subsidiary will be located in Silicon Valley, already a hub for transportation industry startups. According to Bonny Simi, president of JetBlue Technology Ventures, the company will look into partnerships with other venture capitalists and promote JetBlue’s brand recognition in addition to funding startups.
