RP Detail Gets Certified, Expands

When Roger Perry, owner and operator of RP Detail in Arkadelphia, wanted to expand his business, he turned to the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center at Henderson State University.
In business since 2007, RP Detail offers high-quality automobile. Perry has grown the business with a commitment to exceptional customer service, including picking up and dropping off vehicles as an added convenience for his customers.
Leah Hasley, HSU ASBTDC center director, worked with Perry and the Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s Small and Minority Business Division to certify RP Detail as a Minority Business Enterprise. This certification increases the opportunity for minority-owned businesses to sell products and services to the State of Arkansas.
In addition, Hasley worked with Perry to secure financing with Southern Bancorp of Arkadelphia to relocate his business to a brand new shop. The new facility at 143 N. 16th St. in Arkadelphia allows RP Detail to detail vehicles year-round.
Perry also was awarded the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas’ Economic Development Program Plus grant to assist with building and working capital costs.
“The HSU ASBTDC team has been an excellent resource for me and my business. The Minority Business Enterprise certification through AEDC, the funding provided by Southern Bancorp of Arkadelphia, and the FHLB EDP Plus grant will allow me to better serve the Arkadelphia and Clark County community,” Perry said.
Perry continues to consult with the ASBTDC, most recently about his marketing strategy.
“It is exciting to see organizations such as the Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s Small and Minority Business Division, Southern Bancorp, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas come together to promote economic growth through small businesses such as RP Detail. Assisting businesses through all stages of development is something that the HSU ASBTDC enjoys doing,” said Hasley.
