Transportation Issues Call for 2015 SBIR Proposals

The Department of Transportation has issued its call for Small Business Innovation Research proposals for its 2015.1 SBIR solicitation. Participating components in this DoT solicitation include the Federal Highway Administration, the Federal Railroad Administration, the Federal Transit Administration, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This funding opportunity opened on Jan. 6 and closes on March 9.

The DoT’s SBIR Program Office publishes two solicitations each fiscal year for proposals on specific research topics of interest to DoT components. This year, the topic breakdown by agency component is as follows:

  • Federal Highway Administration (4 topics)
  • Federal Railroad Administration (9 topics)
  • Federal Transit Administration (1 topic)
  • National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (1 topic)

The DoT has a list of frequently asked questions association with the application process and requirements that can be found. Administrative and technical questions not found in the list of FAQs can be directed by email to the U.S. DOT SBIR Program Office at dotsbir@dot.gov. All questions must be submitted by email, and will be accepted through Feb. 20 at 10:59 p.m. CST.
