Tucker’s Ready for 1st Holiday Season

When Tanner and Kasey Rowland decided to pursue their dream of starting a western-style clothing store, they turned to the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center at Henderson State University.
Brandon Horvath, business consultant with the HSU ASBTDC, assisted the Rowlands with putting together a business plan and a set of detailed financial projections, preparing them to successfully receive funding from Arvest Bank of Hot Springs. The Rowlands opened Tucker’s Apparel and Boots in February.
The assistance from the HSU ASBTDC did not stop once the Rowlands received financing. Chelsea Goza, the center’s marketing consultant, helped the Rowlands in developing strategic plans to raise awareness of the new business and prepare for their first holiday season.
“Our center operates as a team of experts,” said Goza. “As with the Rowlands, our center director Leah Hasley and Brandon assist entrepreneurs in starting their business, and I focus on helping those entrepreneurs start correctly, in terms of communicating their message through marketing.”
Goza assisted the Rowlands in creating a marketing website that will later expand to offer the store’s products online and developing a strategy for maximizing sales during the coming holiday season.
The Rowlands feel confident heading into the retail holiday rush. “The HSU ASBTDC has prepared us for what to expect during our first holiday season as retail store owners,” said Kasey. “We are excited to see customers find that special holiday gift for their loved ones at Tucker’s Apparel and Boots.”
Find Tucker’s Apparel and Boots on Facebook or visit the store at 3131 Airport Rd. in Pearcy.
