UAMS BioVentures Announces Arkansas Life Sciences Summit

Researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, and members of the general public interested in learning more about statewide innovative business activity in the life sciences are encouraged to attend the 2016 Arkansas Life Sciences Summit on Wednesday, Oct. 19, in Conway.
Attendees can expect to hear presentations from 14 Arkansas companies that are moving new technologies towards commercial market. Among these companies are ASBTDC clients Infinite Enzymes and Phyzit. Technologies to be presented include medical devices, drug delivery, diagnostics, biotechnology and agriculture sciences, among others.
The keynote speaker is Patrick Plues, vice president of state government affairs for the
Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO). He will give a presentation on the outlook for biotechnology and life sciences regionally, nationally and globally. One of the goals of this year’s event is to organize a BIO affiliate in Arkansas.
The summit is organized and hosted by UAMS BioVentures of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and will be held at the University of Central Arkansas from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
