Grace Lorenzo’s Bridal and Formal Wear is a mother-and-daughter-run business in downtown Rogers. Offering formal wear for weddings, pageants, proms, or special events, the duo strives to provide the best in service and style for a customer’s special day.
In 2021, owners Angela Bohannan and Amy Ramirez began to envision opening a business together. When a former bridal shop in Rogers became available, they saw the perfect opportunity to put their passion for bridal and formal attire into a boutique.
Starting a retail specialty shop can be daunting, so the pair reached out to Mary Beth Brooks at the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center in Fayetteville.
With expert guidance from Brooks, Bohannan realized the need to plan their business start strategically.
“Mary Beth was very helpful in the way that she made me step back and question everything. This taught me to look at it from all sides,” said Bohannan.
The UA Fayetteville ASBTDC provided competitive analysis and market research specific to the bridal-and-formal industry sector. With these tools, Bohannan and Ramirez were able to better grasp what was necessary for the business to be successful.
Grace Lorenzo’s opened in July 2022.
With the support and expertise of Brooks and her team, mom and daughter launched Grace Lorenzo’s with confidence. Bohannan said she is “incredibly grateful” for the time and effort Brooks put into guiding her through opening a business that she can put her heart into every day.
“Grace Lorenzo’s Bridal and Formal Wear is a business started out of love. My daughter and I just enjoy selling formal wear. I hope our customers can feel our passion for this business, and we want to be a part of the community for a long time,” said Bohannon.
