Two offices in the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center network have new directors.
Long-time banker Mary Beth Brooks has taken the helm at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, office. She started Aug. 27.
Former business consultant Brandon Horvath has returned to the Henderson State University ASBTDC. His first day in the director role was Sept. 10.
“I am excited to have Mary Beth and Brandon in our network. Brandon is a seasoned consultant with previous ASBTDC experience, and Mary Beth is well-known in northwest Arkansas due to her extensive banking career and will be a tremendous asset to the small business community there,” said State Director Laura Fine.
Brooks’ banking experience spans 30 years. She was the president and CEO of the Bank of Fayetteville from 2004 to 2015.
Horvath spent three years with ASBTDC before becoming a franchise consultant for McDonald’s.
Through its seven centers, the ASBTDC network delivers a full range of small business services, including no-cost, personalized consulting and market research. The Fayetteville center serves eight counties in Northwest Arkansas, while the Henderson office covers a 10-county area in the southwest part of the state.
“Brandon and Mary Beth will be great community partners in assuring that entrepreneurs and small business owners have the resources and expertise they need to succeed,” said Fine.
