Painting Franchise Opens in Jonesboro

When Keith Crooks of Brookland decided it was time to start his own business, he followed the advice of his accountant and contacted the A-State ASBTDC for assistance.

Crooks met with Center Director Laura Miller to discuss the feasibility of purchasing a franchise to start a painting business. Miller answered questions about business startup and assisted with the development of a loan proposal and financial projections.

With ASBTDC’s help, Crooks secured financing from First Security Bank, opened Five Star Painting of Jonesboro, and is bidding on residential and commercial jobs.

The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration through a partnership with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock College of Business, Health, and Human Services and other institutions of higher education.
