Parents and educators Diana and Corey Adaire opened Purpose Driven Childcare to fill a need they knew existed.
After adopting two infants within a three-year period, the couple struggled to find a local childcare provider for their boys. For years, they talked about starting a daycare.
In 2019, they made the decision for Diana to quit her job teaching first grade and start a childcare facility.
The Adaires went to their lender to discuss financing, and he recommended they go to the Arkansas Tech University ASBTDC for assistance with their business plan and financial projections.
“We have very little experience in business planning, and we realized very early on we needed help, so we sought out as much help as we could get,” said Corey, who will assist Diana with the financial side of the business. “Our business consultant helped us with budgeting, business planning, and anticipating things we would never have thought of on our own.”
Purpose Driven Childcare, located at 2136 North Highway 7 in Dardanelle, is licensed and has certified and trained staff. They serve families with infants and toddlers and have a kindergarten-readiness program for preschoolers. They plan to offer an after-school program for older children in the spring.
