The Department of Transportation has issued a pre-solicitation of its fiscal year 2020 Small Business Innovation Research Phase I solicitation.
The pre-solicitation will run through Jan. 29, during which time prospective applicants can submit technical questions regarding the SBIR research topics. The agency anticipates release of its FY20 Phase I solicitation on or about Feb. 6.
Over the past five years, the U.S. DOT SBIR program has invested $50 million in qualified small businesses.
Participating DOT components include the Federal Aviation Administration, the Federal Highway Administration, the Federal Railroad Administration, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.
Full descriptions of these research topics can be found in Appendix A: U.S. DOT SBIR Proposed FY20 Phase I Research Topics.
An informational webinar about the solicitation and new program changes is tentatively scheduled for Feb. 11. More information on how to register for the webinar will be available on the DOT SBIR website and in the solicitation when the solicitation is issued.
