Kenneth Ericksen, DC opened Simply Chiropractic in De Queen after an exhaustive search to find just the right location for a clinic.
For the last 10 years, Ericksen has practiced throughout Oklahoma and Texas.
Having a home in Sevier County, he wanted to provide care to the De Queen area, particularly the Spanish speakers in the community. Ericksen is fluent in Spanish. He picked up the language while on a two-year church mission to Chile.
The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center equipped Ericksen with in-depth data about the region. The market research found that a significant portion of the population has arthritis and back pain and had sought chiropractic care.
The research also pinpointed the best ways to promote a business in the area.
All of these factors affirmed locating his practice on North Lakeside Drive (Highway 71) in De Queen. The office is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, as he alternates days in nearby Broken Bow, Okla.
Ericksen attributes his success in Broken Bow to relating well to the underserved Hispanic market and brings that same mentality and care to his practice in De Queen.
The clinic started accepting patients in July 2020, about 10 months after Ericksen first contacted ASBTDC about the possibility of starting a practice in the area.
Dr. Ken reached out to the Henderson State University center after a referral from the De Queen/Sevier County Chamber of Commerce.
He was paired with Business Consultant Ryan Cole, and their first meeting was at the chamber.
Cole reviewed Ericksen’s business plan and cash flow projections while providing specific market research to narrow his search for the right location.
