Dalnita Morrison’s balloon and yard card business is all about bringing joy to others. Thanks to a new website with easy online ordering and fresh sales materials, Morrison is the one celebrating now.
“I have laughed and cried tears of joy,” she said about the new e-commerce and marketing tools made possible by the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
Morrison, a certified balloon artist, owns Decorative Arrangements & Sculptures, LLC. For nine years, the Little Rock company has created fun and festive displays for parties, events, milestones such as birthdays and graduations, and other joyous occasions.
In early 2021, she contacted the center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock for help with her website.
Specialty Services Manager Eddie Mraz connected Morrison with Eyona Mitchell, ASBTDC business specialist, and Dannet Botkin of Designs Group Consulting, an ASBTDC Business Recovery Services vendor.
Through the Business Recovery Services program, ASBTDC pairs client businesses with service providers for short-term projects to accelerate their pandemic recovery and business growth. Business specialists are contract consultants with expertise that matches the client’s needs.
As with all the center’s consulting services, vendors and specialists assist clients at no charge.
A Better Way
The Decorative Arrangements website lacked a clear sales process and did not connect to the company’s customer relationship management system, so Morrison was taking all orders manually. The business also did not have a Google My Business listing.
All that soon changed, as Mitchell and Botkin set to work.
“It was an honor to re-brand Decorative Arrangements and elevate the website and order processing systems with ASBTDC, Eyona, and Dalnita. The company now has a professional logo, improved business cards, a new visually exciting website linked to Dubsado for streamlined order intake, and additional items like rack cards,” said Botkin. “Now Dalnita’s amazing works of balloon art and yard cards are easy to purchase, and examples of her incredible talent are beautifully displayed on her sales materials to help entice more orders.”
The updated site went live in July.
“Overall, Dalnita now has the professional tools to do business a better way,” said Mitchell.
The Decorative Arrangements project was Designs Group Consulting’s first Business Recovery Services collaboration with ASBTDC. To showcase the project, DGC prepared this white paper summary.
With her business poised to increase sales, Morrison is thrilled with the results of her first ASBTDC experience.
“I am forever grateful for meeting with Eyona and Dannet. Thank you for the follow-through and working while I was asleep, literally asleep, to what the business needed,” said Morrison.
“From the consultation and listening, to the vision of what I desired for rebranding my business, to bringing all to life and more,” she said. “Thank you, ASBTDC and DGC, for the blessing of all these services where I did not spend a dime for top-notch services.”
