Innovative small businesses and their research partners are encouraged to explore funding opportunities through Release 1 of the Department of Energy’s Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer program. SBIR/STTR topics can be found here.
Participating DOE program offices include: 1) Advanced Scientific Computing Research, 2) Basic Energy Sciences; 3) Biological and Environmental Research, and 4) Nuclear Physics.
To be eligible to submit a Phase I application, you must first submit a Letter of Intent to the DOE Portfolio Analysis and Management System (PAMS). Letters of intent must be submitted by 4 p.m. Sept. 3.

All Phase I applications must be submitted through the Grants.gov web portal to be considered for award. Grant applications to both SBIR and STTR programs must be successfully submitted by 10:59 p.m. CDT on Oct. 15.

The agency’s Phase 0 assistance program is now open to all first-time SBIR/STTR applicants responding to this funding opportunity announcement. The Phase 0 program is administered by Dawnbreaker.
