The Department of Defense recently pre-released its new broad agency announcements (BAA) for its Small Business Innovation Research (20.2) and Small Business Technology Transfer (20.B) program. During the pre-release period, prospective SBIR/STTR applicants can check out the agency’s research topics and contact the associated technical points of contact to ask topic-related questions.
These BAAs will officially open on June 3, with a proposal submission deadline of 11:00 a.m. CDT on July 2. Once the BAA opens, all technical questions must be submitted through DoD’s online public platform.

NOTE: The Air Force is not participating in this round of DoD’s SBIR/STTR BAAS nor the Air Force X20.2 SBIR/X20.B Commercial Solutions Openings (CSOs). The Air Force will participate in the next round of DoD SBIR/STTR BAAs and Air Force SBIR/STTR CSOs scheduled for pre-release on Aug. 25, 2020.
