Innovation Specialist
This role supports ASBTDC’s statewide technology entrepreneur programming, including accelerators and initiatives that foster technology transfer and startup growth. The Innovation Specialist will assist the Innovation Strategist in delivering SBIR/STTR program services, such as consulting on business startup, business planning, customer discovery, market potential, and SBIR/STTR proposal writing.
Beyond assisting clients with the SBIR/STTR application process and the research-to-commercialization journey, other responsibilities include supporting marketing and outreach activities, organizing events, and helping update education resources and materials.

Business and Innovation Consultant, University of Arkansas ASBTDC
This full-time position delivers small business consulting with a focus on business planning, financial analysis and projections, strategic planning, capital funding, and business transition planning. Responsibilities include one-on-one advising of entrepreneurs, researchers, and established businesses to advance innovative ideas, products, or services.
The position provides SBIR/STTR education, outreach, and proposal assistance; conducts market research to support decision making and commercialization planning; and collaborates with university partners, venture development groups, and regional stakeholders to promote spinouts and startups.
Additional duties involve training small businesses and technology entrepreneurs, coordinating programs, recruiting partners, participating in I-Corps activities, leading seminars, and assisting with marketing initiatives. The role also engages with state and federal sources of science and technology funding, such as Technology Transfer Assistance Grants, SBIR matches, and other opportunities.

Center Director – Southern Arkansas University ASBTDC
Southern Arkansas University seeks applicants for the director of its ASBTDC regional office to work closely with the ASBTDC State Director, Lead Center management team, the local business community, and SAU staff, students, and faculty. The director will report to the Dean of the Rankin College of Business and is responsible for all aspects of regional office operations.
Some of the duties and responsibilities
- Work with small businesses by providing technical advice and problem-solving support in areas such as business planning, financial analysis, budgeting, marketing, loan proposals, and market research.
- Manage the regional office budget, reporting requirements, and performance measures.
- Develop and deliver entrepreneurial programming, events, and community outreach initiatives while supporting ASBTDC’s Marketing Plan.
- Facilitate student engagement in entrepreneurship through experiential learning opportunities.
