Robby Lassiter of Portland envisioned being an agriculture aviation pilot early in his life and one day hoped to own a business. Both dreams are now a reality.
Robby and his wife Sherry opened Lassiter Flying, LLC on Feb. 10.
“I knew I wanted to be an agriculture pilot from an early age, and I have been flying for other people for over 20 years. The time was just right for me and Sherry to start our business,” said Robby.
Sherry manages the business operations while Robby handles the day-to-day operations.
The Lassiters were referred to the University of Arkansas at Monticello ASBTDC by a loan officer at Delta ACA, where they obtained an SBA loan. Stephanie Harton, center director, assisted them with compiling a business plan, financial projections, and loan proposal.
“Sherry and I are thankful for the free services offered by the ASBTDC, and we appreciate the hard work and dedication that Stephanie Harton put towards this project,” said Robby. “I feel like we gained an enormous amount of knowledge but also gained a friend.”
The new business owners say they will continue to use ASBTDC services as their business grows.
