Ty Barrett

Director

Ty Barrett became director of the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith ASBTDC in March 2025.

With more than 30 years of experience in finance and community banking, Barrett brings expertise in business consulting, loan development, and strategic planning. He most recently served as president and CEO of Spiro State Bank in Spiro, Okla.

In addition, Ty has served as vice chairman of the Carl Albert State College Development Foundation for more than 15 years while holding leadership roles with the Trinity Catholic School Foundation and Christ the King Catholic School Foundation in Fort Smith.

The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration through a partnership with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock College of Business, Health, and Human Services and other institutions of higher education.
